"Next year I will be attending the University of Southern California," Hobbi said in a live press conference on FoxSports Arizona. "It's a great school. I am looking forward to getting a degree from the University of Southern California.
"I couldn't be happier with my decision."
Hobbi is rated as the No.6 offensive guard in the 2011 recruiting class by Scout.com, and fills a position of need along USC's thin offensive line.
The 6-3, 285-pound recruit played offensive tackle for Saguaro, a high school that has produced a number of talented linemen in recent years, but will likely move inside to guard or center on the college level.
Hobbi said he was thrilled to be a member of USC's talented recruiting class.
"They are loading up on talent. They are going to be good," he said. "We are going to win some championships."
The Under Armour All-American visited USC earlier this month and couldn't pass up the chance to play in the historic Los Angeles Coliseum.
"When I walked out on the Coliseum, I was blown away," Hobbi said. "It was a dream come true to know that I am going to be a Trojan. It's a great feeling."
Scout's Evaluation: A four-star guard that performed very well at the Under Armour All-America Game. Hobbi is very well coached and plays with great technique. Plays with a wide base and gets off the ball well. Uses his hands well and is very strong. Is a finisher. Equally adept in the run and pass game. Plays RT in HS but at 6-3, will probably move inside and play guard or center at the next level. – Jason Jewell SW Analyst
