The Shine Is Still on Starr

Norco (Calif.) linebacker Scott Starr has had several schools in to check him out and with double-digit offers, he's got an ideal time frame for a decision...

Norco (Calif.) four linebacker Scott Starr (6-3.5, 225), has had a couple of Pac-12 schools join the mix recently, adding more offers to an already lengthy list.

Washington State and Cal are the most recent schools to offer, both having been by the Norco campus to watch him.

"They both came out and watched me, and just wanted to see what I am in person," said Starr. "Cal said to my coach to call, so I did and they offered, and then Washington State told my coach they were offering on the spot."

USC, who has yet to offer, was also by last week to see Starr.

"They just want to see me in person, but the day they came out, my coaches wanted to focus on bag work, and that's fine, it's about team first," said Starr. "Coach O (Ed Orgeron) said he wanted me to come out for the Rising Stars, even for a half day, but I'm not sure if I can make it yet."

In the meantime, Starr said several schools are recruiting him aggressively.

"Recruiting me the hardest right now is UCLA, Colorado, Arizona State, pretty much all the schools that have offered are recruiting me hard. Besides that, USC, Notre Dame, Florida and Oregon are all talking a lot with me," said Starr. "I'm really looking at all the schools that are looking at me."

Starr, though, said no leader has emerged, though he's got a time frame for when he'd like to decide.

"I want to make a decision before the season, but if it's not right, I wont do anything till later," said Starr. "I'm starting to get an idea of what schools are standing out, I just want to make sure it's the right decision.
