OL Jeff Byers from Loveland, CO is generally considered to be the top offensive lineman in the country and he will pay an unofficial visit to USC on Thursday, June 5th. Jeff will have his last day of school on June 4th and then head immediately to the West Coast where he and his father will visit potential schools while the rest of his family visits the beach. "It's a good deal for them but it's a good deal to talk football too," says Jeff.
Byers (6-4, 270) has offers from all the majors but just because he's visiting USC and other schools it doesn't mean he's any closer to making a decision. "My interest in USC is the same as any other school at this point. I want to get to know them, I want to see if they want me, I want to see the academics, I want to check the chemistry on the team and make sure I get along with the players and coaches. I'm looking at all those things. I know a little about the OL tradition at SC but I want to find out more. I spoke with Pete Carroll this month and I've been in contact with Tim Davis for a few months now. You can tell they are all enthusiastic, you can tell they have great passion for the game".
Is Byers the same way?
"Oh yeah, I love the game. You gotta love it to play it".
