Miami picked up a commitment from cornerback Artie Burns on Monday, when he announced that he was choosing the Hurricanes over a top five that also included LSU, Florida State, USC and Louisville.
“The talent is starting to go back to Miami and I really want to be a part of that,” he said shortly after going public with the decision.
The former Alabama commitment realized that the process is a long one and he admits that his original pledge was premature.
”I was caught up in the hype, so I wanted to take the time to reflect on my decision and make the right one for me and my family,” he said.
Even still, the four-star Miami (Fla.) Northwestern standout is not completely through with the process just yet.
Said Burns, “I’m still going to take my five official visits to the schools that were in my top five.”
