It only took one play on offense for the Trojans to put six on the board, after a Matt Barkley to Marqise Lee 75 yard touchdown... USC leads Hawaii 35-0 at the half.

USC is back in business and Heisman frontrunner Matt Barkley did not waste any time proving it.

Barkley connected with receiver Marqise Lee for a 75-yard touchdown pass on the Trojans first play of the game, the point after attempt by Andre Heidari was good, and the Trojans were up 7-0. The scoring drive took 14 seconds.

The Trojans’ third series resulted in a touchdown to receiver Robert Woods, to put the Trojans up two scores. Later, Silas Redd got in on the action with a carry into the end zone before another Woods’ touchdown.

USC Coach Lane Kiffin’s concern throughout fall camp has been his defensive line. After one half of play, his defense has shutout Hawaii.

Junior Morgan Breslin started in place of defensive end Wes Horton who is sidelined with an injury. Breslin recorded two tackles in the first half and has kept pressure on Hawaii quarterback Sean Schroeder throughout the half.

Hayes Pullard started at middle linebacker in place of Lamar Dawson who remains sidelined due to injury. Pullard intercepted a pass tipped by cornerback Nickell Robey and returned it 27 yards for a touchdown.

Going into the half, the Trojans are up 35-0.

Barkley is 17 of 30 for 309 yards. Lee has 8 catches for 176 yards and 1 touchdown. Woods has 5 catches for 29 yards, 2 touchdowns. Redd has 5 carries for 42 yards, 1 touchdown.

The only real area of concern for the Trojans after one half of football is the number of penalties against them: 6 for 59 yards, including a couple of personal fouls.
