Prospect Review: Mission Viejo QB Ian Fieber

QB Ian Fieber

Last weekend when Mission Viejo (Calif.) hosted El Toro in a huge South Coast League matchup, Charger quarterback Conner Manning received most of the headlines and deservedly so.

Manning entered the game as the state's hottest quarterback but it was Diablo signal caller Ian Fieber who really put on a show. Fieber brushed off two early interceptions to throw for 273 yards and three touchdowns in leading the Diablos to a 49-7 win over the Chargers.

Fieber has made big strides this season and seems to get better each game. He looks right at about 6-0, maybe 6-0.5 but has a very strong arm and can get the ball down the field. He made several nice throws outside the pocket including a beautiful 48 yard touchdown pass to Max Redfield that hit the athlete right in stride.

He has been very well coached by the Diablo staff and is already very advanced in terms of the depth he gets on his drops, his decision making and ability to make multiple reads. Fieber throws with accuracy to all areas of the field and can throw with touch or with heat depending on the throw.

There is no doubt Fieber has BCS tools and the only thing that could potentially hold him back on the recruiting front is his size. If he continues to grow and fills out a bit, he should be a hot commodity when spring recruiting rolls around.
