Granite Bay (Calif.) linebacker Beau Hershberger (6-2, 230), has been having a solid senior season, and one school is asking him to come for an official visit next month, and a couple others could be close.

"Nevada, San Jose State and Oregon State and I have built good relationships," said Hershberger. "I have good relationships with each of those coaches."

Barry Sacks is recruiting Hershberger for Nevada, Klayton Adams to San Jose State and Jay Locey for Oregon State.

"Fresno State came by this week and Nevada wants to come catch a game," said Hershberger. "Nevada wants me to come for an official visit next month after the season."

Cal is also showing interest in Hershberger, who has offers from Army, Navy, Northern Colorado, Sacramento State, Weber State and Yale.

"Cal told me before the season, they wanted to see some film," said Hershberger. "Once the playoffs are done, I'll be getting my whole senior film out."

Hershberger said much of the attention is coming as a hybrid linebacker.

"I kind of compare myself to Courtney Upshaw, that hybrid top, where I stand a lot at defensive end and drop into coverage," said Hershberger. "I fit that characteristic."

On the year, Hershberger has 10 sacks, and is targeting the 15 that stand as the school record.

Granite Bay plays Modesto (Calif.) Downey tonight in the CIF-SacJoaquin Section playoffs.
