La Jolla (Calif.) Country Day lineman Ziad Damanhoury discusses his recent visit and commitment to Nevada...

In the recruiting world, circumstances often change within a matter of days.

Last week, La Jolla (Calif.) Country Day offensive lineman Ziad Damanhoury experienced that firsthand.

"On Thursday, [Nevada assistant athletic director] Ken Wilson came out to visit my school. On Friday, I went out for an official visit to Nevada. They offered me and I committed on Sunday," he said.

Though he'd been talking with the program for a while, the sudden offer was a bit unexpected and Damanhoury was eager to take his visit.

"I saw snow for the first time when I was there, so that was awesome," he laughed. "The people out there were great and I really enjoyed the coaching staff. It's beautiful, Lake Tahoe is only about thirty minutes away."

Damanhoury enjoyed the opportunity to spend some time with the team, including his host for the weekend, offensive tackle Kyle Roberts.

"He told me that there is a great student body and that the football team is fun to be around," he said.

The 6-foot-6, 300-pound prospect also had the chance to talk with his future coaching staff about their plan to incorporate him into the Wolf Pack's offense.

"Right now, my understanding is that I'll be coming in as an offensive tackle. Whether I get the opportunity to start depends on how well I do when I get out there. They are not quite sure whether I'll be redshirting or if I'll be starting as a true freshman," he said.

Damanhoury made good use of his time on campus, covering all of the bases, including academics.

"While I was out there, I was also able to talk with the school's counselors about the Business program. I'm going to major in Finance and Marketing; they have a really good business school," he said.

Though he had originally planned on taking an official visit to Vanderbilt, Damanhoury says he is finished with the recruiting process and is solid to Nevada.

"I'm done," he said.
