FOX Sports NEXT learned Tuesday evening that USC has hired a new offensive line coach. Mike Summers is the latest to join the Trojans' staff.
Redshirt freshman offensive lineman Zach Banner was first to tweet the news Tuesday night, "Excited to play with new OL coach, Coach Mike Summers," the tweet said.
A Lexington native, Summers has been the running game coordinator and offensive line coach at Kentucky since 2010.
Prior to coaching at Kentucky, Summers served as the assistant head coach and offensive line coach for two seasons at Arkansas. He also coached at Louisville from 2003-06, before joining the staff of the NFL's Atlanta Falcons for a season.
The Trojans' current offensive line coach James Cregg is expected to be retained on staff as the tight ends coach, per a source.
