Enfield makes first staff hire

Pepperdine assistant Jason Hart is the first hire of new USC men's basketball coach Andy Enfield...

A week into his new job, USC head coach Andy Enfield has made the first hire on his staff.

SCPlaybook.com told you on Saturday Enfield was targeting San Diego State's Tony Bland and Pepperdine's Jason Hart.

Hart, an assistant at Pepperdine University, has accepted an assistant coaching position with Enfield and the Trojans.

Pepperdine head coach Marty Wilson made the news public Monday morning, tweeting "Jason Hart will be joining the new USC staff. They are getting a first class person, family man & hard worker. Much respect!"

Hart is a Southern California native. He attended both Inglewood and Westchester High School before going on to a successful career at Syracuse and a nine year NBA career.
