Scout's ninth ranked point guard in the nation, Jordan McLaughlin, is the latest 2014 recruit to commit to new USC head coach Andy Enfield and the men's basketball program.
McLaughlin, a four-star point guard, announced his decision Wednesday from his Etiwanda (Calif.) high school gymnasium.
"I feel like USC is turning around, the whole program is turning around with coach Andy Enfield and the assistants Tony Bland and Jason Hart," McLaughlin told FOX Sports SCPlaybook.com. "I'm just trying to be a part of what they're trying to do."
Enfield's staff didn't miss any game action featuring McLaughlin during the July evaluation period, helping them to make up considerable ground since getting a late start on his recruitment.
"It meant a lot, having them there at every game," McLaughlin said.
Though his relationship with Enfield and Hart is still rather recent, McLaughlin has been the target of USC assistant Tony Bland for the last three years, since Bland was on staff at San Diego State. Though Bland's school has since changed, his relationship with McLaughlin hasn't.
"He was really big," McLaughlin said. "He recruited me well."
McLaughlin is the No. 36 overall prospect in the 2014 class.
He selected the Trojans over Indiana, Kansas, and UCLA.
