USC interim head football coach Ed Orgeron says he is looking forward to taking over for the next eight games.

USC announced the firing of head coach Lane Kiffin on Sunday.USC and shortly after athletic director Pat Haden named recruiting coordinator / defensive line coach Ed Orgeron the Trojans' interim head coach.

In a press conference Sunday with the media, Orgeron said he is excited about leading the Trojans through the next eight games on USC's schedule and wants to put some "fun and joy" back into football.

The Trojans have a bye week before taking on Arizona in a Thursday night game on Sept. 10.
