Mama picks USC

Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco offensive lineman Damien Mama announced for USC on National Signing Day. Mama is a Scout five-star recruit, the No. 2 rated offensive guard in the nation.

Bellflower (Calif.) St. John Bosco offensive lineman Damien Mama announced for %%MATCH_6%% on National Signing Day from his high school gymnasium.

He is the first five-star to commit to the Trojans 2014 recruiting class, but may not be the last.

The Trojans are still hoping to close with Gardena (Calif.) Serra five-star Adoree Jackson and Long Beach (Calif.) Poly five-star %%MATCH_2%%.

Mama picked USC over %%MATCH_3%% and %%MATCH_5%%. In the days leading up to National Signing Day, he eliminated %%MATCH_4%% from his recruitment.

Mama, 6-foot-4 375-pounds, is literally USC's biggest recruit.

He was also one of the Trojans top targets.

Mama is Scout's No. 2 rated offensive guard in the nation.

Room for Mama
Mama is a candidate to start immediately for USC in the fall.

Though his size may indicate otherwise, Mama is nimble, quick, and nasty.

The biggest question surrounding the five-star is his ability to maintain his weight.

Mama will compete for a starting spot on the Trojans offensive line in the fall; don't be surprised if he's one freshmen who earns it.
