USC picks up commitment No. 5 in the 2015 class from Los Angeles (Calif.) Windward offensive tackle Roy Hemsley...

USC coach Steve Sarkisian picked up his fifth verbal commitment in the 2015 recruiting class on Tuesday morning when Los Angeles (Calif.) Windward offensive tackle Roy Hemsley pledged to the Trojans.

Hemsley is a Scout four star prospect, rated the No. 21 offensive tackle in the 2015 class. He is the second offensive tackle to commit in the class, behind the commitment of Powder Springs (Ga.) McEachern four-star Chuma Edoga.

Hemsley's decision came down to the local Los Angeles schools, USC and UCLA.

"It has been a difficult decision to make," Hemsley said in a statement released by Windward School. "But I feel that USC is the best fit and is the right college for me to continue my studies and to grow as a football player."

"USC's football program has an amazing legacy of player development and a culture of winning."

He is the first recruit secured by first year offensive line coach Tim Drevno, who edged out UCLA ace recruiter Adrian Klemm for the commitment.

USC receivers coach Tee Martin, the 2014 Pac-12 recruiter of the year, also had a heavy hand in recruiting Hemsley.

"USC's football program has an amazing legacy of player development and a culture of winning," said Hemsley. "I look forward to having the opportunity to contribute to that tradition of excellence."

Hemsley added that it "meant a lot" that USC coaches "made a point of coming to Windward to say hello and watch me play."

USC plans to accept commitments from three to four offensive linemen in the 2015 class.

Hemsley, 6-foot-5 270-pounds, joins quarterbacks David Sills and Ricky Town, cornerback Taeon Mason, and Edoga in the Trojans 2015 class.

National Signing Day is Wednesday, Feb. 4.
