Its another clear cut sign that Head Coach Tim Floyd is attracting top out-of-state recruits, a la Pete Carroll.
In a short span, Coach Floyd has raised the national profile of the Trojans, who ultimately could end up with one of the top recruiting classes in the country, if not school history.
Its one of the main reasons that Paris chose USC over Oklahoma and Texas Tech, among others.
"I love Coach Floyd. I feel like I fit in well in his system," he said. "Plus, one of my good friends is Dwight Lewis, who'll be playing at SC this year."
If there's a recurring theme in Coach Floyd's classes, it's his unmatched ability to recruit in Louisiana while based in L.A.
Besides Paris and Lewis, the late great Ryan Francis was also from down south.
It seems like Coach Floyd's roots in that state are paying big dividends.
However, not all was rosy for Paris last year. Hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, forcing his family to evacuate and relocate in Houston.
"It was tough because my dad got stuck in New Orleans for about two days," he said.
Luckily, Paris had family in Texas which made the transition easier through the whole ordeal.
Despite all this, he flourished at Cypress Christian School averaging 19 points and 8 assists per game.
"Im pretty versatile. I can score and also get everyone involved."
The flashy PG, who tailors his game after Chauncey Billups, is looking forward to his very first visit to L.A. in the fall.
With the sparkling, new, state of the art Galen Center about to debut, lets hope the blue-chip recruits keep coming to USC from near and far.
