Coleman out with injury

Martin Coleman

According to a report in the Orange County Register, Edison HS offensive tackle Martin Coleman will miss the CIF finals and a possible appearance in the state championship game after suffering an ankle injury in practice.

The Register quoted Edison coach Dave White as saying that Coleman stepped on a teammates' foot and rolled his right ankle during a drill Tuesday. Coleman said he suffered a fractured lower tibia near his ankle.

Martin was expected to match-up against Michael Reardon from Orange Lutheran in the Pac-5 championship game on Saturday in a battle of future Trojan teammates. According to the Register, Reardon called Coleman to express disappointment after hearing of the injury. Recommended Stories
