The Streak Continues
The Trojans have spent 18 days in fall camp and quarterback John David Booty
still hasn't thrown a single interception. Booty's streak has now reached nearly
400 passes without throwing a pick.
Head Coach Pete Carroll commented on the streak after Wednesday's scrimmage at
the Coliseum, "He's just had a fantastic camp. He's thrown almost four
hundred passes without throwing a pick in this camp. Not to jinx him at all, but
that's a fantastic demonstration of his understanding of what's going on."
Green decision expected Today
Broderick Green wasn't in action for Thursday's practice. Green, a freshman
tailback from Arkansas, is still waiting to be cleared by the NCAA. After
practice Thursday Pete Carroll commented on the situation, "We have
received word that we will find out tomorrow (Friday) afternoon."
Washington out with Sprained Shoulder
Chauncey Washington had x-rays on his right shoulder today and they revealed
that he has a sprained AC joint. Washington is officially listed as day-to-day,
but it wouldn't be a shock if he missed the Idaho game. SCPlaybook will keep you
update on the situation.
Empty Backfield
The Trojans entered camp with a ten man rotation at tailback. But on
Thursday, Stafon Johnson and Desmond Reed were the only backs healthy enough to
practice at full speed. Johnson got the majority of the snaps with the first
team and continued to impress.
Extra Work
Garrett Green, Brandon Carswell and Ronald Johnson all stayed after practice
to work on their hands. Carswell and Green caught passes fired at them from the
jugs machine. While Ronald Johnson worked on catching techniques with Coach
Carroll.
