Last month USC lost running back Emmanuel Moody to transfer, but like all things USC lately, the Trojans will just reload with another. USC commitment Curtis "Moody" McNeal did a little bit of everything for his Venice team Friday night, and ScoutTV was there to bring you each big hit and electrifying run.
I made the short trip over to Venice High School on Friday night to see one of the top teams in the area in action. Venice High School left little doubt as they dismantled Taft in front of a raucous home crowd, and
USC
Commitment
Curtis McNeal
, aka Moody, left little doubt as to who the best player on the field was.
McNeal literally did it all for Venice on Friday night. He had touchdown runs. He returned kicks. He defends passes and blows up the pitch man on an option play. He had a beautiful catch on a skinny post, and yes, he even punted.
At a muscular 5-6 and 180 pounds, McNeal packs a punch whether he is running with the ball or hitting someone with it. He plays the game with tremendous instincts, has excellent hands, vision, balance, and closing speed.
He's tremendous with the ball in his hands, but he may be more valuable on the college level as a cornerback.
Several players have recently thrived at corner at his size including two from
Georgia
in Tim Wansley and
Tim Jennings
, and more recently, the player he reminds me the most of,
Florida State
's
Michael Ray Garvin
.
