Scout Ranking: #49 Middle Linebacker
Ken Norton Jr. went to Hawaii and found a hidden gem in Kapolei fullback Simione Vehikite. The 6-foot-0, 245-pound fullback has the ideal combination of speed, power and blocking ability to be a true lead blocker in USC's offensive scheme. With the addition of the three-star recruit, the Trojans now have four highly skilled players at the position with Stanley Havili, D.J. Shoemate, Adam Goodman and Simione Vehikite.
Vehikite will also get the opportunity to play on special teams.
According to Carroll: "Simione Vehikite is the first time in a while where we've hit a fullback. We're thrilled about getting that done. He's a guy that played a lot of defense as well as running back as well as true fullback. We've had a hard time finding guys that fit the bill, but Simi is one of those guys. He comes here with an opportunity to do that, of course, and also be a special teams kid because of all the work he's had at linebacker."
Reason for Choosing USC: "I have always liked the program. I have heard that the academics are good there. Also, Kaluka Maiava is from Maui and I am from Maui."
Future Impact: Vehikite is a true lead blocker and will be utilized in that role at USC. He will be behind Stanley Havili for the next two years, but could team up with D.J. Shoemate to make a very impressive fullback duo in a few years.
