"I pretty knew USC I was supposed to get an offer if I showed up to the camp and did my thing, Just like it was at UCLA" said Uko. "After the camp, I talked to Coach Pete Carroll and he said he loved the way I worked and how I played. And they offered me a scholarship."
Uko told us, when we called, he was on his way home and was just offered a scholarship from USC.
So, now that USC has shown it has high interest in Uko, does he have have high interest in the Trojans?
"It's pretty high," said Uko about his interest level in USC.
UCLA is another local school Uko has interest in.
"They are up there," said Uko about the Bruins.
But Uko isn't in any hurry to make a decision on a school.
"I'm just looking around and I'm open to considering all of the schools that have offered me ," Oku said.
Oku will not return for the second day of the Rising Stars Camp and will not attend any other camps/combines this summer.
This is Scout.com Nationl Recruiting Director's evaluation of Oku.
A prototype interior line prospect, Uko is quick off the ball and powerful at the point of attack. He's physically dominant in nearly every aspect of the game as he plays with great strength and leverage. He needs to play every down, but when he's motivated, he can do it all.
We'll have a more in depth article on Oku's camp experience at USC in the next couple of days. He was on his way home when we called him.
