Kyle Prater Commits To USC

Kyle Prater visited USC Aug. 10-11 and what he saw led to his commitment. Prater announced his commitment to USC at Proviso High today. He had said USC was his top school before the visit, and the August visit solidified USC as his top school. The Trojans now have verbal commitments from's No. 1 and No. 2 ranked receivers.

"I've always dreamed of playing in the NFL and feel USC is the best place to realize that dream," said Prater of why he chose USC.

Prater spent considerable time with all of the coaches while on his two-day visit and a few things stood out to him, and led to his commitment.

"The energy and intensity of the practices, everybody is real and I loved the environment" said Prater when asked what he liked about USC.

"I have been watching USC for a long time and the players that they put out. They produce every year, so it's a really good school and I have to strongly consider them as my choice. I like the big receivers they put out and the way they produce, and get them NFL-ready. That's another key thing."

Prater will have an extremely talented quarterback tossing him the football, whether it be Matt Barkley, Aaron Corp or Mitch Mustain. He spent some time talking with Aaron Corp and Matt Barkley while on his visit to USC, and said he was impressed with both.

"I had a chance to spend a lot of time talking with Aaron Corp and Matt Barkley and they are both real cool, everybody was real cool" Prater said. "They (Corp and Barkley) are real good, though."

We'll have more coverage of this commitment later today. Recommended Stories
