Chris Martin's still considering visiting USC

Chris Martin from Grandview High in Aurora, Colo., verbally committed to Notre Dame on Feb. 9 of this year, and after his visit to Notre Dame on Oct. 17, his commitment appeared to be rock solid. And it might be, but we asked him if he still planned on taking some official visits?

Yes," said Martin when asked if he still planned on taking some official visits. "But I don't have a date set for anybody. I've been keeping everything on the low lately about official visits."

Martin told us there are three schools he could possibly officially visit.

"USC, Florida and Cal are definitely in the mix for official visits," Martin said.

Although he's often thought of as a pure defensive end prospect, Martin said USC isn't recruiting him as a defensive end.

"USC is recruiting me as a football player," said Martin. "They aren't recruiting me strictly as a pure pass rusher, they see me playing the SAM linebacker position."

Grandview (6-4) will face undefeated Fairview (10-0) this weekend in the second round of the playoffs and martin is confident they can beat the Knights.

"We're about to get into the thick of playoffs with the second round this weekend against Fairview," said Martin. "We got kind of a good draw and our defense is playing well, and our offense is starting to click. If we make it to the state championship, it will be played on Dec. 5 at INVESCO (Field)."

We'll follow up with Martin after this weekend to see how the Wolves fared in against Fairview, and find out if he has any firm plans for official visits, too.
