USC redshirt sophomore quarterback Aaron Corp has transferred to Richmond and will begin classes on Monday.

"I'm very excited to get on campus and start class on Monday," Corp said in a statement. "Richmond allowed me the opportunity to compete and play right away and I was very comfortable meeting with Coach Scott and his staff. The University has a tremendous football program and is nationally-recognized for its academics, especially in my major of international studies."

Corp entered fall camp as the starting quarterback for the Trojans but suffered a cracked fibula and was overtaken by freshman Matt Barkley.

The 6-3, 200-pound quarterback passed for 155 yards and one touchdown while participating in three games in 2009.

Corp will be immediately available to play at Richmond and still has two years of eligibility left.

"We wish Aaron the best," USC head coach Pete Carroll said. "I know it'll work out well for him."

With Corp's transfer the Trojans now have only two scholarship quarterbacks on the roster in Matt Barkley and Mitch Mustain, and four-star recruit Jesse Scroggins is expected to arrive in the fall.

USC quarterback Aaron Corp has decided to transfer to Richmond.
