McDonough, GA wide receiver Markeith Ambles announced this morning on Fox 5 News in Atlanta that he plans to spend the next four years playing football at USC. Ambles picked USC over North Carolina and Tennessee.
"USC has always been my dream school," Ambles said. "They say that if I can come in and work, I will be with the ones as soon as I get there and can get on the field."
The four-star wide receiver joins Scout’s top two rated wide receivers in the 2010 recruiting class, Robert Woods and Kyle Prater, to give the Trojans an outstanding trio of incoming wide receivers for quarterback Matt Barkley.
Ambles originally committed to Tennessee but with the departure of Lane Kiffin and his staff, Ambles is now headed to sunny Southern California.
The 6-2.5, 190-pound pass catcher recently took an official visit to USC and was very impressed with the campus, academics and new coaching staff.
"Markeith had a very good visit," Keith Ambles said after the visit. "USC is a school Markeith really liked early on, but USC stopped calling him for some reason. But that really doesn't matter now, he has an opportunity to go there if he chooses."
Markeith Ambles Scouting Report:
Ambles is the complete package at wide receiver. At 6-2, 190 pounds, he has the size to dominate the smaller corners. He also runs crisp routes and gets in and out of his breaks very well. At times he will lose focus and drop the easy pass while he makes all the impossible catches look easy. Ambles can be that underneath, over the middle, or deep threat on the next level. He is that talented. - Chad Simmons - South Region Analyst
