The Men of Troy will begin spring practice on March 30th with a new head coach, and a new squad focused on starting off the Lane Kiffin era on the right foot. The young but talented Trojans will have 15 total practices stretched over 33 days to learn from their new coaching staff that includes legendary defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin and fiery defensive line coach Ed Orgeron.
The excitement is already building around Heritage Hall as the players are eager to showcase their talents in an effort to impress the new staff and earn playing time. Veterans like Butch Lewis, Ronald Johnson and Allen Bradford will be called on to assume leadership roles, while a pair of fresh faces, Kyle Prater and Dillon Baxter, hope to make good first impressions.
For players like C.J. Gable and Blake Ayles, the coming of spring brings a new beginning and the opportunity to gain increased playing time in Kiffin’s offense.
Howard Jones Field will once again be the scene of intense, hard-hitting football and plenty of optimism in the coming weeks, and for football-starved fans everywhere, March 30th can’t come soon enough.
