After an extended recruiting process that stretched well past Signing Day, Scout’s top overall prospect in the 2010 recruiting class is ready to make his commitment official.
Five-star offensive lineman Seantrel Henderson plans to sign with the USC Trojans this week, his father confirmed via text message on Monday.
Henderson verbally committed to the Trojans on National Signing Day (Feb.3rd) but the family said he would wait to sign his letter of intent until after learning more about the NCAA’s investigation of USC.
The 6-8, 325-pound lineman picked USC over Miami, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Florida and Minnesota.
"I just felt so comfortable at USC, and they have a great recruiting class coming in," Henderson said of his decision on Signing Day. "I will have a lot of great players around me, and (head coach) Lane Kiffin, (defensive coordinator) Monte Kiffin, and James Cregg, a great offensive line coach. I really enjoyed Los Angeles, and look forward to getting out there."
"The campus itself just fits me so well, because it's not too big, and it's not too small," he continued. "I think the class sizes and everything are just right for me."
The elite offensive tackle from St. Paul (MN) Cretin-Derham Hall High School received his ACT scores this past Friday and is now qualified to enroll. He is expected to sign his letter of intent this Thursday.
