| Biography: |
| When an injury to Alex Holmes vaulted Dominique Byrd into the starting tight end spot, the Trojan offense didn’t miss a beat. Byrd caught 14 passes for 268 yards in the first six games of the season before unfortunately suffering a left knee injury in the sixth game. Byrd used his strength and speed to constantly find himself in the open field with the ball. He turned long gains into routine plays as he had at least a 14-yard catch in each game of the year, and added 55, 42 and 33-yard catches as well. A solid all around tight end, Byrd looks to yet again have an impact on the tight end position in 2004. |
