| Campbell is a physical specimen and is similar to former USC safety Troy Polamalu. Can take your head off with a hit, and is as tough and competitive as you'll see. Acknowledges that his pass drops are his biggest area of improvement. Some schools like him as a fullback, some see him as a safety. Wherever he plays, he's a gamer. |
| Biography: |
| Rushed for 723 yards at running back as a sophomore, but played primarily linebacker as a junior in 2005, thanks to the presence of California's all-time leading rusher, Toby Gerhart, ahead of him. Ended up with 135 tackles and was a second-team all-state selection during the 2005 CIF Championship campaign (13-1 record). Of those 135, an impressive 75 were solo tackles; 3 fumble recoveries; bench: 395/squat: 525/power clean: 275
Partial senior (7-0) stats: 101 tackles (56 solo)/28 TFL/six fumbles caused/1 fumble recovered/5 QB hurries; 2 TDs in 2 carries as a fullback.
Campbell reports a 2.7 core GPA and will take the SAT in October.
Campbell: "I've always been around a football…I've been playing since I was eight years old. When I was little I used to watch game film with my dad, so there's not an offense I haven't seen. I'm really good at the blitz too. My pass drop is what I need to work on. When I transferred to Norco, I had never really worked on my pass drop because my old school had more of a running game. Norco passes a lot more so I'm really trying to get my pass drop down."
