| Tyler Gaffney rushed for 1,600 yards and 23 touchdowns in helping lead San Diego (Calif.) Cathedral (10-2) to the 2007 CIF-San Diego Section D-III title. Had 20 catches for 303 yards and five touchdowns. Earned First Team All-San Diego County honors by the San Diego Union-Tribune. Gaffney comes as quite a package. He says he can bench press 330-pounds and has a 36-inch vertical jump.
During his 2006 sophomore season, ran for 1,544 yards and 23 touchdowns. Caught 21 passes for 313 yards and five scores and was a First Team All-Eastern League pick.
Partial senior (2-0) stats: nine touchdowns on 300 yards rushing and 150 yards receiving.
Gaffney says he plans to major in communications and reports a 3.3 core GPA and a 1790 SAT.
