2006 (Sophomore): Played all 12 regular-season games as a member of the second-string offensive line and on special teams.
2005 (Freshman): Did not play in the first three games, but saw action in the last nine with the extra point and field goal units ... seven minutes at right guard against Illinois was his longest stint.
2004 (Redshirt): Spent his first season on the scout team becoming familiar with the Ohio State offense and improving his strength.
High School: Was a three-year starter at left tackle, starting 30 consecutive games ... did not allow a sack in either of his last two years ... won all-league and all-area honors as a senior when he graded out to over 80 percent in terms of blocking efficiency ... also played four years of basketball and lettered his last two years ... was one of the first players in the class of 2004 to commit to the Buckeyes and his early declaration was instrumental in attracting a number of other players.
Personal: Son of Randy and Cheryl Person ... his younger brother Brian plays football and is on the track team at Xenia ... enjoys spending time with friends and playing the piano (studied through his junior year in high school) ... is a fan of country music and John Grisham novels. |
